Back in October, I made a promise to myself to create consistently through the end of the year. not waiting for the “right moment,” just honoring the ideas as they came. Creating is something I genuinely enjoy, and I wanted my final shoot of the year to reflect that.

This self-portrait is inspired by Solange — her music, her artistry, her celebration of blackness. She’s one of many artists I admire and hope to collaborate with one day. I wanted to recreate (in my own style) a few of her shoots that I love . If you’re a photographer, you already know, self-portraits on a tripod with a 10-second timer are harder than they look, but we made it work.
